Francesco Cavaliere (ITA)

Francesco Cavalieren ainutlaatuinen tyyli on vuosien keikkailun ja studiotyöskentelyn tulos. Hän on koonnut uskomattoman laajan arkiston itsetehtyjä ääniefektejä ja eksoottisia rytmejä, joita hän yhdistelee omaan kertojanääneensä.

Cavaliere ammentaa vaikutteensa mm. äänirunoudesta ja surrealismista. Hänen viimeisimmästä luomuksestaan “Gancio Cielo” on toistaiseksi ilmestynyt kaksi osaa. Tässä maailmassa alkemia ja scifi kohtaavat, kun absurdi ja intensiivinen tarinankerronta kulkee rinta rinnan vastustamattomasti muljahtelevien biittien kanssa. Cavaliere on kehitellyt universuminsa asukkaiksi hillittömän olentokavalkadin. Cavalieren esiintyessä kielirajat murtuvat musiikin ja tarinankerronnan sulautuessa toisiinsa. Kokonaisuus noudattaa kuitenkin aina omaa erikoista logiikkaansa ja kuulija tempautuu mukaan ihmeellisten kertomusten käänteisiin.

Nuslux eli Roope Eronen kuvailee musiikkiaan seuraavasti:

“Keikoillani teen musiikkia täysin improvisoiden. Pidän esiintymiseni itselleni mielenkiintoisina tätä kautta. Samalla improvisaatio säästää aikaa ja vaivaa keikan valmisteluista. Toisaalta se on henkisesti raskaampaa kuin hyvin valmisteltu keikka. Konserteissani pyrin luomaan jonkun hallitsemattoman elementin, kuten aikoinaan oikosulkusyntetisaattorin, tai nykyään epäsynkassa olevat luupit. Pyrin reagoimaan siihen ja tekemään siitä ja soitostani mahdollisimman ihmeellistä musiikkia. Soittiminani käytän yleensä paria yksinkertaista syntetisaattoria sekä joitakin efektejä. Joskus käytän myös kasettisoittimia ynnä muuta mitä käsiini sattuu.”

Nikolas List is an American/Mexican music producer and filmmaker currently based in Brussels. His approach to making music draws on his cinematographic background and his conviction that there is beauty and music in every sound.
His live performances are designed to be unique, immersive experiences where the listener is free to either dance, meditate or just bask in exciting and enticing soundscapes.

Jukka-Pekka Kervinen

Jukka-Pekka Kervinen is a Finnish composer, writer and visual artist. His works are mainly experimental, computer- oriented including algorithmic composing methods. Compositions consists of chamber music, solo works, microtonal and post-minimal music. He has experimented also combining various genres and styles like techno, IDM, breaks and glitch with computer assisted composing systems.

When your dad is a maverick that builds his own antennas to listen-in on distant and obscure radio-stations worldwide and eventually solders together a computer from a DIY kit, hooking up a mono speaker to hear the cassette tape loading programs – and your earliest memories are these sounds of raw data being fed into the machine, the resulting computer beeps and boops and a visual of an asterisk shooting minuses at numbers, you’ll either get yourself committed at an early age or wind up twiddling that dial on the radio in your room.
If you then accidentally hear your first episode of the legendary ambient radioshow Avaruusromua, you’re pretty much done for. Suddenly you do a timewarp from listening to computer music to recording found sound, hums, hisses and blissing out on being sent a soundbite of ice creaking.
Induction microphones, hydrophones, electromagnetic listening devices? Hook those up to free energy apparatuses and alternative healing devices.
Lets push everything as far as it can go and create wall-to-wall noise to drown out the mental debris and the misfiring synapses of your poor ol’ head.

David Petráš: Live Performance

David Petráš (b. 1994) is a Slovakian guitarist who writes electroacoustic music and presents it in diverse formats: from analog reel-to-reel machine, in public listening sessions and as sound installations. Most of the time he is touring as a solo and carrying the entire backline with him – vintage tape machine, amplifier, guitar and lot of instruments. His works can be specified as an experimental music with a various atmospheres and loops.
In 2015 he began to develop an approach focused on principles of analyzing the structures of his pre-existing musical works and transposing them into scores for electro-acoustic taped music. This process has led to the creation of various soundscapes and compositions, which can be heard in his live set.

Tatsuru Arai: Arkhitek-ton Hyper Serial music

Tatsuru Arai (1981, Japan) is a Berlin based, Japanese composer who has studied composition under Akira Nishimura, Toshio Hosokawa and Sunao Isaji at Tokyo college of Music. He has also completed MA-studies in composition, computer-programming and multimedia-art with Wolfgang Heiniger at the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. Tatsuru’s works have been performed all around the globe.
His main artistic theme is to integrate classical compositions with new technology, something he calls “TRANS-AGES MUSIC”. He also aspires to present the human perception of sound, a physical phenomenon that influences human beings. Tatsuru Arai calls this perception “geometric structure” and it is a fundamental pillar that allows the listeners to understand the true nature of the universe and experience it through sound.
