Dogon (Venezuela/USA)
This legendary but elusive ambient-pop duo will now be performing in Finland for the very first time. The duo’s music is a breathtaking combination of experimental and ambient landscapes and pop compositions injected with ethnic rhythms and airy vocals. Dogon is Miguel Noya and Paul Godwin.
Ambient electronic Venezuelan/North American duo, Dogon, have been creating sounds together since 1981. Their new concept work, “All My Relations (at peace)”, mixes electronic sounds, vocals and guest instrumentalists Kai Eckhardt, Micro Vard and others. The album explores themes of surrender, cyber-longing, grief and praise in a shifting ambient-pop foreground. Suitable music for transformative times.
Dogon have been featured throughout the US, South America and Europe at concerts and festivals including at SF MOMA (2000, Sol LeWitt Exhibition), EXPO Lisboa (1998) and XLIV Venice Biennale (1990). In 1996, Dogon pioneered the use of Internet technology for the first-ever remote interactive concert “NETLOOPS” performed live from San Francisco and Caracas simultaneously.
